Izzy Thomas is a dynamic pianist, composer, and educator whose musical career reflects the rich cultural tapestry of South Florida. Known for her expressive playing and distinctive compositional voice, Izzy has cultivated a multifaceted path that spans solo performance, collaborative ensembles, and original compositions.

Her debut album, Close Your Eyes and Fly (Spotify Link, click here), was released in the summer and is now available on all major streaming platforms. The album showcases her versatility and emotional depth through a collection of original works for solo piano, as well as pieces featuring strings and percussion. Deeply inspired by the vibrant music scene and diverse landscape of South Florida, Izzy’s compositions reflect both her classical training and her passion for jazz, contemporary, and world music influences.

Izzy has graced some of the region’s most notable stages, including performances with the Miami Symphony, appearances at the historic Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, The Bath Club in Miami Beach, and a featured performance at the South Beach Jazz Festival. Her engaging stage presence and musical storytelling have made her a sought-after performer in both formal concert settings and more intimate venues.

She has studied under renowned pianists and educators including Ciro Fodere, Jim Gasior, Lajos Zeke, and Bruce Dudley, each of whom has contributed to the development of her unique artistic identity. Izzy holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the New World School of the Arts and a Master’s degree in music from Belmont University, where she further honed her craft in performance and composition.

In addition to her work as a performer and recording artist, Izzy is a dedicated teacher who brings enthusiasm, creativity, and a deep understanding of music to her students. Whether on stage or in the studio, she continues to explore new ways to connect with audiences and inspire the next generation of musicians.
